Where the Mind Meets Law, Technology & the Future of Work
Ergaris Academy educates HR professionals and employment lawyers to the highest international standard. We are building a first-class comparative employment law education platform — one that draws on neuroscience, comparative law, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and educational psychology to deliver a programme of rare depth.
The result is not merely knowledge, but retention — and not merely retention, but the confident practical application of complex international legal relations across 71 jurisdictions.
Every module is fully integrated with BSL · ASL · ArSL · CSL — our constant commitment to inclusivity, and a first in legal education.
Five Disciplines · One Purpose
Every discipline at Ergaris serves a single ambition: the mastery of comparative employment law. Neuroscience and educational psychology shape how our students learn and retain; artificial intelligence and virtual reality shape where and how that knowledge is applied. The law is the destination — the sciences of the mind and the technologies of the age are how we arrive.

My research begins in the tribunal and the workplace, not the library. I am interested in what AI actually does to workers' legal rights — in practice, across borders, and in the spaces where 71 different legal systems give different answers to the same question. Stream 2 begins with a harder question still: when the employer is an algorithm, does existing law even see the worker?

Collective labour law is the layer of employment law that most people never see — until it matters most. My research focuses on what happens to collective rights and collective mechanisms when the employer's decisions are made not by a human manager but by an automated system across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously.
Neuroscience & Learning DesignChief Research OfficerDr. Mallika Sen
My work begins with a single question: how does the brain actually encode complex legal knowledge — and can we design learning that works with the mind rather than against it? I study how virtual reality, game-based learning, and sign-language mediation change the way knowledge is retained and recalled. As Chief Research Officer I also hold oversight of every research stream at Ergaris, because the science must be consistent across all of them. My doctoral work on cognitive development in bilingual learners sits at the heart of our sign language programme.

I am a Chartered Senior Psychologist with dual HCPC registration in both Clinical and Educational Psychology. My focus at Ergaris is the learner as an individual — how each person, with their own cognitive profile and their own first language, actually acquires and retains complex legal knowledge. My professional standards form the backbone of our research methodology.
Across fifteen years and five countries — Germany, the UK, Sweden, Austria, and Japan — I have worked as a systemic supervisor, mediator, and organisational consultant to public institutions, NGOs, and global organisations. That international perspective is what I bring to the question of how we make legal education work for every learner, including the Deaf professionals at the centre of our programme.

Employment law does not evolve in isolation — it moves with treaties, trade, migration, and the shifting balance of power between states. As a historian of international relations, I study how the evolution of employment law across nations has shaped diplomacy, trade, and power — and how labour standards became instruments of statecraft. The governed workplace, across centuries, has always reflected the governed world.

Clinical & Educational Psychology
Why HCPC Registration Matters in Research
The Health and Care Professions Council is the UK's statutory regulator for psychologists. HCPC registration is not a qualification — it is a licence to practise. It requires ongoing CPD, adherence to the Standards of Proficiency, and accountability to a professional tribunal. It cannot be self-awarded.
When we state that our research team includes HCPC-registered psychologists, we are making a legally verifiable claim about the professional standing of the individuals designing our studies, interpreting our data, and making recommendations about how our students learn.
This matters because neuroscience-informed education is a rapidly growing field that is also rapidly attracting unqualified practitioners. Ergaris Academy's commitment to HCPC-registered leadership of its research programme is a structural protection against that risk — for our students, our partners, and the integrity of our findings.
Dual Statutory Regulation — Side by Side
United Kingdom
Health & Care Professions Council
All psychological research conducted within Ergaris Academy's programme is designed, supervised, and reviewed by practitioners registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) — the UK's statutory regulator. Registration is not a qualification but a licence to practise: ongoing CPD, adherence to the Standards of Proficiency, and accountability to a professional tribunal.
Germany
Federal Chamber of Psychotherapists
Germany's statutory regulatory body for psychologists and psychotherapists holds equivalent authority to the HCPC. German-registered researchers on the Ergaris Academy team are bound by equivalent professional codes and ethical standards, and bring additional rigour from continental European research ethics traditions — particularly in neuropsychology and clinical assessment methodology.
This dual-registration framework ensures our research meets the highest professional standards across both UK and German regulatory systems. Registration numbers are publicly verifiable through each regulator's online register.
Educational Psychology
Analysis of how students acquire and retain complex legal knowledge across different modalities — text, VR, game-based, and sign language mediated learning. Informs module sequencing, assessment design, and Miyah AI intervention timing.
Clinical Psychology
Assessment of stress responses, cognitive load, and psychological safety in high-stakes simulated legal environments — particularly VR tribunal simulations. Ensures that immersive experiences are educationally productive rather than anxiety-inducing.
Cognitive Neuroscience
fMRI and EEG-informed understanding of how different learning formats activate different memory systems. Grounds the design of our ten case law games in published neuroscience rather than instructional design convention.
Deaf Studies & Linguistics
Specialist analysis of how BSL, ASL, ArSL, and CSL users process legal terminology — informing interpreter briefing, sign vocabulary standardisation for legal terms, and the cognitive demands of bilingual legal learning.
Occupational Psychology
Study of the transition from learning environment to professional practice — including how VR-trained tribunal experience translates to real-world performance, and how Deaf graduates navigate early employment in HR and legal settings.
Applied Neuroscience
The Science Behind Every Module
Each VR environment and case law game was built from a specific neuroscience research question. The design brief is not "make this engaging" — it is "which memory system does this experience target, and what does the published literature say about optimal encoding through that system?"
◉
Embodied Cognition & VR Tribunal Design
Research question: does physically occupying the spatial position of advocate, judge, or witness in a virtual tribunal produce measurably different procedural memory encoding compared to observational video learning? Our VR module design is structured as a controlled study measuring retention at 1 week, 1 month, and 6 months post-session.
The Precedent Tree Cultivation game is built on a spaced repetition algorithm calibrated against individual learner forgetting curves measured via in-game response latency. The research question: can a game-based SRS system produce superior case law retention compared to conventional flashcard or reading-based approaches in legal education?
A distinctive research programme examining how deaf learners manage the simultaneous cognitive demands of processing complex legal argument and interpreting BSL/ASL/ArSL/CSL — and how module and VR design can reduce extraneous load while maintaining germane load for deep schema formation.

◬
Stress Neuroscience & Assessment Design
Miyah's oral examination system was designed with clinical psychology input to produce challenge without cortisol-elevating threat. Research examines the relationship between examination stress biomarkers and performance outcomes — informing question sequencing, pacing, and Miyah's real-time intervention protocols.

◦
Emotional Memory & Case Law Encoding
The Historical Reenactment and Moot Court Arena games are designed around the amygdala's role in consolidating emotionally salient memories. Research question: does emotional engagement during case law simulation produce stronger recall of ratio decidendi than neutral presentation of the same material?
The Multimodal Memory Palace game operationalises the method of loci — one of the most robustly evidence-based memory techniques in cognitive psychology — applied specifically to statutory provisions and case hierarchies. Neuroimaging literature on hippocampal place cell activation informs the spatial design of each palace.

Sign Language Learning Research
Studying the Entire Learning Journey in Sign
Ergaris Academy's commitment to BSL, ASL, ArSL, and CSL integration goes beyond accessibility provision. We are conducting the first systematic study of how Deaf professionals acquire, retain, and apply comparative employment law knowledge when all learning is delivered through sign language mediation.
This research programme addresses a genuine gap in the academic literature. There is extensive published work on sign language acquisition and on legal education separately — but almost nothing on the intersection: how do Deaf learners build complex legal schema when the medium of instruction is a visuospatial language and the subject matter is a fundamentally text-based field?
The findings will be published and shared openly — with Deaf community organisations, academic partners, and legal education institutions globally. This is research conducted in the interests of the Deaf community, not proprietary data retained for competitive advantage.

Ethical Standards
Research Conducted to the Highest Ethical Standard
All research conducted within or commissioned by Ergaris Academy is governed by a formal ethical framework. This is not an internal compliance document — it is a publicly accountable set of standards against which our work can be assessed.
We apply the British Psychological Society's Code of Human Research Ethics as our primary framework, supplemented by HCPC Standards of Proficiency where clinical or educational psychologists are involved as researchers, and UK GDPR for all participant data.
Any institution, individual, or community organisation wishing to review our research ethics framework or raise a concern about research conduct may contact the research team directly. We are committed to transparency at every stage.
Independent Ethics Review
All research protocols are reviewed by an independent ethics committee before any data collection begins. No study proceeds without written ethics approval.
Informed Consent
All participants provide written informed consent. Consent forms are available in English, BSL video format, ASL video format, ArSL video format, and CSL video format.
Right to Withdraw
Participants may withdraw from any study at any time without providing a reason and without any effect on their programme enrolment or standing.
Data Minimisation & UK GDPR
Only data necessary for the specific research question is collected. All data is pseudonymised at point of collection and stored on UK-based encrypted servers.
Community Benefit Obligation
Research involving Deaf community participants carries an explicit obligation to return findings to that community in accessible formats — including BSL, ASL, ArSL, and CSL summary videos — before academic publication.
BPS Code & German Equivalent Guidelines
The British Psychological Society's Code of Human Research Ethics is the primary framework for UK-registered researchers. German German-registered researchers additionally adhere to the equivalent German psychological society ethical guidelines — ensuring all research meets dual national standards where international teams are involved.
HCPC & German equivalent Statutory Registration
Every psychologist conducting or supervising research within Ergaris Academy holds current statutory registration — HCPC in the UK or German equivalent in Germany. Registration numbers are available on request and are publicly verifiable through each regulator's online register. No research is supervised by unregistered practitioners.

We Are Actively Seeking Research Partners
Our research team is named and committed. We are now seeking academic co-investigators and institutional partners to build with us — legal academics, neuroscientists, educational psychologists, Deaf studies researchers, historians of international relations, and AI specialists. There is no formal application process at this stage. A conversation is enough to start.
Whether you are an individual academic seeking an applied research environment, or an institution offering ethics oversight, grant co-application, or laboratory access — we would like to hear from you.
We are actively building the academic team behind this research. If you are a legal academic, doctoral researcher, or research institution working in AI regulation, comparative labour law, vulnerability jurisprudence, or collective employment law — we want to hear from you.
Ergaris Academy research findings will not be retained as proprietary data. As our research programme matures, every study will be committed to open dissemination — and from late 2027 we plan to launch our own annual research conference alongside submission to peer-reviewed scientific publications.
We believe that research on how the brain learns law, how Deaf professionals acquire legal knowledge, and how virtual reality changes professional education belongs to the field — not to the institution that funds it. Our publication commitment will be unconditional: positive, neutral, and negative findings all submitted for peer review.
Once launched, academic institutions, practitioners, and Deaf community organisations will be invited to attend the annual conference, with proceedings published openly following each event.

§
Why VR Changes Legal Learning
Neuroscience research demonstrates that embodied, spatially anchored learning produces significantly stronger memory encoding than passive video or text. When a student stands at a tribunal lectern — even in VR — the procedural and emotional memory formed is categorically different from reading about the same experience. This is the scientific basis for our VR investment, and it is why our graduates perform differently from graduates of any other programme.

Neuroscience-Designed Learning Games
Ten Games. One Goal: Case Law Encoded for Life.
Developed in collaboration with neuroscientists, each game targets a specific memory formation mechanism — spatial encoding, retrieval practice, emotional anchoring, competitive engagement — to move case law and statutes from short-term recall into long-term professional memory.
The Neuroscience Behind the Games
Standard legal education relies on passive repetition — reading and re-reading cases. Our games are engineered around targeted neural pathway stimulation, spaced repetition principles, and the testing effect. When a student builds the Precedent Tree or investigates the ratio decidendi, they are encoding law through multiple memory systems simultaneously — spatial, procedural, emotional, and semantic — producing retention rates 3–5× higher than conventional study.

The Legal Module — two perspectives, one question. Prof. Ifeoma Ajunwa opens with the global view: how AI is reshaping the quantified worker, and what good AI governance looks like at board level. Andy Skulimowski follows with Employment Law & AI in the EU and UK: the vulnerability of employees, and where the law now leaves employers exposed.
The Programme
Seven sessions. One connecting framework.
Each session opens with a question your organisation is already facing, and closes with something you can use the next morning.
01
The Quantified Worker: Who Governs the Algorithm?
Prof. Ifeoma Ajunwa
Your organisation may already be using AI to decide who is hired, watched and promoted, often without the board ever deciding that it should.
You will
See how AI now shapes the whole working life, from hiring and monitoring to evaluation and exit.
Understand where bias and legal risk enter automated decisions, drawing on the US and global governance landscape.
Leave with the questions every board should ask before an algorithm makes a decision about people.
02
Leading People When the Machine Moves Faster
Prof. Dave Ulrich
Technology creates the possibility. Leadership decides whether people follow.
You will
Understand what the AI age asks of leaders, and of the people function.
Build organisational capability, not just tool adoption.
Link people strategy directly to the value your organisation creates for customers, investors and communities.
03
The Vulnerability of Employees: Employment Law & AI in the EU and UK
Andy Skulimowski
When the algorithm decides, the employer is still accountable.
You will
Identify where AI leaves employees vulnerable, and your organisation exposed.
Understand the EU AI Act’s high-risk rules for recruitment and HR decisions, and what they mean in practice for UK and EU employers.
Confront algorithmic management, the human realities behind “no HR needed”, and who is liable when an algorithm decides.
04
What Your People Won’t Tell You About AI
Kate Busch
Resistance to AI is rarely about the technology. It is about the fear of losing mastery, meaning and identity at work.
You will
Understand the psychology behind fear, disengagement and quiet resistance to AI.
Recognise the early signs of burnout and loss of trust in teams going through change.
Lead the conversations that keep people engaged while their work is being redesigned.
05
Keep Your Judgement: The Neuroscience of Thinking with AI
Dr Mallika Sen
Every task handed to the machine is one the brain no longer practises. Judgement needs to be protected on purpose.
You will
Understand how reliance on AI affects attention, memory and decision-making.
Learn science-backed tools to protect focus and regulation when the pace never slows.
Keep the independent thinking and leadership identity that AI cannot supply.
06
Every Prompt Is a Potential Leak
Shahzeb Naeem
Most AI incidents begin with ordinary work. Someone uploads a candidate pack for a faster summary. A confidential email becomes prompt context. The intention is productive. The disclosure is real.
You will
Follow one familiar prompt from screen to provider, and see everything that can leave the organisation: prompts, attachments, transcripts, extensions, agents and connected apps.
Learn to classify information and choose the right AI environment (public, approved enterprise or private) before anything leaves an approved boundary, and why “local” does not automatically mean secure.
See how corporate espionage has moved into the AI age, then repair realistic prompts in a live scenario lab and agree when to stop, redact or escalate. Participants leave with a concise reference sheet.
07
From AI Pilot to Real ROI
Luís Rodrigues
Many AI projects stall at the pilot stage. The problem is rarely the technology.
You will
Separate the hype from use cases that create measurable value.
Understand what it takes to move from pilots to production-grade AI, including agentic AI.
Build a business case for AI that your board and your finance director will back.
All session descriptions are subject to each faculty member’s final approval.
What You Leave With
Lead with confidence. Think with clarity. Act with impact.
A clear-eyed map of AI's human impact — and the confidence to lead through it, not react to it.
A working understanding of AI security and the law on AI in employment — so the organisation is protected, not exposed.
Practical, science-backed tools to protect focus, attention and resilience when the pace never slows.
A leadership frame that links people strategy directly to commercial results — usable the next morning.
A board-level view of AI governance — the questions to ask before an algorithm hires, monitors or evaluates your people.
A peer network of senior leaders across industries and countries — which stays connected on the cohort platform after the programme ends.
The Cohort Experience
It starts before the room. It continues after it.
The faculty are the reason most people apply. The room is what they talk about afterwards. Twelve hours with seven faculty of international standing — questioning them directly on the decisions you are facing, rather than watching them present — and alongside you, a deliberately small group of peers carrying the same problems in different industries and different countries. Every application is reviewed, because the value of the room depends on who is in it.
Two weeks before
Once your place is confirmed, you receive a personal account on the Ergaris cohort platform. Meet your fellow participants and the faculty, see who is in the room, share the challenges you are bringing, and begin conversations before the first session.
7–9 December
Twelve hours of live online sessions with seven faculty across three days, designed so that every participant contributes, not just listens.
After
Your cohort stays connected on the platform, so the relationships you build keep working for you.
By Invitation
First Cohort · 7–9 December 2026
Twelve hours of live online sessions across three days
Seven expert faculty, one connecting framework
An intimate, deliberately small cohort of senior leaders
Two weeks’ early access to your cohort and faculty
Early bird · until 31 October
£3,500
per participant
£3,800 for applications from 1 November
Places are offered by application. Card payment or invoice after acceptance.
Complete a short participant profile. It takes about five minutes.
2
Review
Every application is reviewed personally. We reply within 48 hours.
3
Confirm
If a place is offered, you receive a personal invitation with payment options.
4
Meet your cohort
Your cohort platform opens two weeks before the programme.
Places are offered in order of acceptance. Once the cohort is full, applicants join the waiting list for the next cohort.
Questions
Before you apply.
Why is there an application?
The value of the room depends on who is in it. We review each application so that every participant brings the experience and perspective the cohort expects.
How do I pay?
There is no payment on the website. If your application is accepted, you receive a personal invitation by email with two options: pay by card, or request an invoice for your organisation. The rate is set by the date your application is received, not the date it is accepted — apply on or before 31 October and the early-bird rate is held for you.
Can my organisation pay?
Yes. After acceptance, choose “Request an invoice” and we will issue one to your finance team, with a purchase order reference if needed.
Where does the programme take place?
This is a live online masterclass. All three days are delivered online, so you can join from anywhere in the world. Joining details are sent with your invitation once your place is confirmed.
Can I send a colleague instead?
Yes, though not automatically. Places are personal to the accepted participant, so email executive@ergaris.academy with your colleague’s name, job title, organisation and contact details, and we will confirm the transfer. Because the cohort is selected, your colleague is reviewed in the same way as every other participant.
What is the cancellation policy?
The cohort is capped at a deliberately small number of places, and each one is offered individually. Once your place is confirmed it is held for you and withdrawn from every other applicant, so fees are not refundable and places cannot be cancelled. If you cannot attend, you have two options: pass your place to a colleague, as above, or move it once to the next available cohort — a single deferral to that cohort, rather than a choice of dates. Email executive@ergaris.academy as soon as you know.
The first cohort of Executive Training is limited to a deliberately small number of senior leaders. Because so much of the value comes from the people in the room, we ask every applicant to complete a short participant profile.
Your answers help us shape a cohort where every participant brings something distinctive, and they help our faculty tailor the sessions to the challenges you are actually facing.
It takes about five minutes. We reply personally to every application within 48 hours.
1About you
2How you will use this opportunity
3Practical details
Thank you, there.
Your application for Executive Training has been received. Every application is reviewed personally, and we will be in touch within 48 hours.
The World's First Neuroscience-Designed VR Legal Training System
Ergaris Academy's VR Employment Tribunal Training System is a two-module platform built in direct collaboration with Employment Tribunal judges, barristers, neuroscientists, and educational psychologists. It is available now on a Founding Partner basis exclusively to universities and law schools — before public commercial launch in February 2027.
"We are not putting employment law in a headset. We are redesigning how the brain learns tribunal procedure — using spatial memory, stress inoculation, and AI-driven judicial pressure to produce graduates who have already stood in the room."
Founding Partner universities receive the product first, shape its development through co-creation input, and secure their licence at a significant pre-launch advantage. This is not a pilot — it is an early access agreement with a confirmed February 2027 delivery date and a fully gated development roadmap already underway.

The Ergaris Academy VR system is not a gamified version of employment law. Every interaction, every judicial response, every branching decision tree was designed in direct collaboration with people who have actually sat in Employment Tribunal hearings — as judges, advocates, and parties.
Neuroscience and educational psychology are not applied afterwards as a pedagogical layer. They are the architectural framework within which the legal content was designed — determining pacing, pressure calibration, feedback timing, and the cognitive sequencing of each module.
"When a student stands at the virtual lectern and the judge asks a question they did not expect, the stress response is real. The memory formed from navigating that moment is categorically stronger than reading the same procedural rule in a textbook."
⚖
Employment Tribunal Judges
Sitting and retired ET judges contributed to the design of judicial behaviour, questioning style, and procedural accuracy. The AI judge's pressure simulation is calibrated against real judicial conduct patterns.
§
Employment Barristers & Solicitors
Practising employment barristers and solicitors reviewed all scenario content for legal accuracy and advised on the sequencing of procedural choices that best reflect live tribunal practice.
Ψ
Neuroscience — Dr. Mallika Sen
Every scene transition, feedback moment, and pressure spike is calibrated against neuroscience research on stress inoculation, dopamine-reinforced learning, and spatial memory consolidation.
◎
Educational Psychology — Kate Busch
HCPC-registered educational psychologist Kate Busch designed the student journey — from onboarding through hearing to feedback — optimised for cognitive load, learning transfer, and professional confidence development.
◈
BSL / ASL / ArSL / CSL Specialists
Sign language interpreters and Deaf community consultants worked with the development team to ensure the interpreter avatar is positioned, timed, and contextualised correctly within the virtual tribunal space.
◬
Founding Partner Universities
The five Founding Partner universities co-create the product during Phase 2 build. Their law school lecturers' input directly shapes the curriculum integration pack, assessment frameworks, and scenario difficulty calibration.
The Science Inside the Simulation
Why VR Changes What Students Remember
The neuroscience case for VR in legal education is not speculative. It is grounded in a convergence of published research on embodied cognition, stress inoculation training, and spatial memory encoding — all of which point to the same conclusion: students who practise in an immersive environment that replicates the physical and emotional conditions of real tribunal proceedings retain procedural knowledge at categorically higher rates.
◉
Embodied Cognition
Physically occupying the advocate's position — standing at the virtual lectern, responding to the judge — activates proprioceptive and spatial memory systems that passive learning cannot engage. The procedural memory formed is anchored to a physical experience.
Research underway · Ergaris Academy VR Study 1
⬡
Stress Inoculation
Controlled exposure to judicial pressure in VR — with real stakes and real-time consequences — activates the HPA axis at a calibrated level. Repeated exposure builds the cortisol tolerance that allows advocates to think clearly under pressure in actual proceedings.
Yerkes-Dodson · Optimal challenge point
◈
Dopamine-Reinforced Feedback
The feedback architecture is designed around the dopamine reward cycle — correct procedural choices trigger immediate positive feedback timed to the brain's consolidation window, strengthening the neural pathway associated with the correct action.
Dopamine loop calibration · Spaced repetition
◬
10 Case Law Games
Integrated alongside the VR modules, ten neuroscience-designed case law games reinforce the legal knowledge that underpins tribunal competence — Precedent Tree Cultivation, Ratio Decidendi Detective, Memory Palace, and seven others. All accessible in BSL, ASL, ArSL, and CSL.
Game-based SRS · Long-term potentiation
◦
Miyah AI — In-Session Coaching
Miyah operates as a real-time legal coach within VR — suggesting precedents, evaluating argument quality, and flagging procedural errors as they happen. Post-session, Miyah generates a personalised learning plan based on the student's performance patterns.
Adaptive learning · Real-time intervention
⌂
University Research Partnership
Founding Partner universities participate in a parallel research study measuring VR learning outcomes against traditional methods. Findings will be published in peer-reviewed journals — giving partner law schools co-authorship credit on published neuroscience research.
Peer-reviewed · Co-authorship opportunity
Founding Partner Benefits
What Your University Receives
A Founding Partner agreement is not a purchase of a finished product. It is a co-creation partnership — your law school's input shapes what gets built, your students are the first to use it, and your institution is named as a founding contributor to the world's first neuroscience-designed VR legal training system.
01
Founding Partner Price
Secure both modules at the Founding Partner rate — significantly below the public commercial price that activates in January 2027. The earlier you sign, the greater the advantage.
02
100 Student Licences
Each package includes 100 student licences per module — sufficient for a full LLB or LPC cohort. Additional licence blocks available at preferential Founding Partner rates.
03
Product Co-Creation Input
Founding Partner law school lecturers participate in the Phase 2 build — reviewing scenario content, shaping assessment frameworks, and providing input on curriculum integration.
04
Analytics Dashboard
Full university analytics portal — individual student performance, cohort progress, longitudinal competency development, and assessment data exportable for accreditation reporting.
05
Research Co-Authorship
Founding Partner institutions are named in Ergaris Academy's published outcomes research — the peer-reviewed study measuring VR legal training effectiveness conducted in parallel with the first cohort delivery.
06
Priority Onboarding
Dedicated technical onboarding, LMS integration support, and staff training. Founding Partners receive priority access to the Ergaris Academy technical team throughout the contract term.
07
BSL / ASL / ArSL / CSL Access
Full sign language integration included as standard — interpreter avatar within the VR environment, not as an external overlay. Deaf students experience the tribunal from inside the room.
08
Curriculum Integration Pack
A complete lecturer resource — lesson plans, pre-session preparation guides, post-session debrief frameworks, and assessment rubrics aligned to SRA and Bar Standards Board competency frameworks.
09
"Founding Partner" Designation
Your institution is named as a Founding Partner of the Ergaris Academy VR Employment Tribunal Training System — on the platform, in published research, and in all future marketing materials.
How the Partnership Works
From First Call to First Cohort
The Founding Partner process is designed to be straightforward for university procurement teams. It begins with a demonstration call and ends with your first cohort of students standing in a virtual Employment Tribunal in February 2027.
Full development begins only when five Founding Partner agreements are in place — this gate protects every partner's investment and ensures the product is built to the specification your law school has shaped.
The five universities who sign first are not just clients. They are co-authors of the product — their students' experience, their lecturers' feedback, and their institutional input will shape what gets built. Their names will be on the published research.
1
Initial Enquiry & Demonstration
Contact our sales team to arrange a live demonstration of the current VR demo. Dr. Mallika Sen presents the neuroscience and learning design; the commercial team presents licensing terms.
2

February 2027 — your first cohort accesses the platform. Dedicated technical onboarding, LMS integration, and staff training provided. Analytics dashboard live from day one.
6
Research & Publication
Your institution participates in the outcomes research study. Findings submitted for peer-reviewed publication — with your law school named as a Founding Partner contributor.
Bespoke Commissioning Service
Custom VR Modules. Built Around Your Institution.
Beyond the Founding Partner programmes, Ergaris Academy offers a bespoke commissioning service for law firms, multinational HR departments, and law schools who need VR modules built specifically around their jurisdiction, their sector, their organisation, or their workforce.
Every custom module is designed by the same team that built the core platform — Ergaris Academy's employment law faculty, VR developers, and crucially, our HCPC-registered clinical and educational psychologists and neuroscientists. The science that makes our standard modules work is applied to every bespoke commission from the first brief.
"We don't hand you a template and wish you luck. Our psychologists and neuroscientists sit with your team from the brief stage — understanding your learners, your context, and what good performance looks like in your organisation — and then design the learning architecture that will get them there."
No published prices — every commission is scoped and quoted based on complexity, jurisdiction, and delivery timeline. Contact the sales team to start the conversation.
What Makes Ergaris Academy Custom Different
SimLab and generic VR platforms give you a template and a no-code builder. You then spend months of internal resource building content yourself — without legal accuracy, without neuroscience input, and without the psychologist-designed learning architecture that determines whether VR training actually changes behaviour.
Ψ
Neuroscience-Led Learning Design
Dr. Mallika Sen (MSc Neuroscience, Oxford; Doctorate, Bristol) designs the cognitive architecture of every custom module — determining scene pacing, pressure calibration, feedback timing, and the memory encoding strategy specific to your learning objectives.
◎
Educational & Clinical Psychology
Kate Busch (HCPC Chartered, AFBPsS, dual Clinical & Educational registration) designs the student journey — from onboarding through scenario to debrief — managing cognitive load, stress inoculation, transfer of learning, and professional confidence development for your specific audience.
⚖
Employment Law Faculty
Every scenario is reviewed for legal accuracy by Ergaris Academy's jurisdiction-specific employment law specialists — the same faculty who built the standard modules, extended to your jurisdiction and subject matter.
◈
Miyah AI — Custom-Briefed
For custom modules, Miyah AI is briefed on your specific legal context, your organisation's policies, and your learner profile. The AI judge, witnesses, and opposing counsel respond within the parameters of your scenario — not a generic legal context.
What Can Be Commissioned
01
Jurisdiction-Specific Modules
A bespoke VR tribunal module built around a specific jurisdiction's employment law — Fair Work Commission for Australia, CCMA for South Africa, Labour Court for Ireland. Accurate court layouts, local procedural rules, jurisdiction-specific AI judge.
02
Organisation-Specific Scenarios
VR scenarios drawn from an organisation's own HR policies, sector-specific employment challenges, and typical dispute patterns. Designed with your HR director or in-house legal team. Ideal for large-scale internal training programmes.
03
Hearing Type Commissions
Beyond Preliminary and Full Hearing — commissions for Disciplinary Hearings, ACAS Mediation, Redundancy Consultation, Grievance Procedures, or cross-border employment dispute simulations.
04
Branded Law School Environments
A virtual courtroom or tribunal room built to your institution's specification — your branding, your academic calendar integration, your assessment rubrics aligned to SRA, BSB, or local bar competency frameworks.
05
Law Firm Training Modules
Custom advocacy and client-handling simulations for trainee solicitors and newly qualified employment lawyers — built around the firm's practice areas, client types, and the specific competencies partners want to develop before first-seat work.
06
Multilingual & Multi-Jurisdiction
For multinational organisations requiring VR training that works across multiple jurisdictions and languages simultaneously — with BSL, ASL, ArSL, and CSL interpreter integration built in as standard, and jurisdiction-specific legal content for each market.
The Commissioning Process
1
Discovery Call
Our psychologists and legal faculty meet your team. We understand your learners, your objectives, and the behavioural outcomes you need.
2

Kate Busch and Dr. Mallika Sen produce a learning design brief — the neuroscience and psychology framework for your module before a line of VR is built.
3
Legal Content Review
Jurisdiction-specific faculty review all scenario content for legal accuracy, procedural authenticity, and alignment to current legislation.
4
Build & Test
Ergaris Academy's VR development team builds to the learning design brief. Iterative testing with your team throughout. Miyah AI briefed on your specific context.

The Founding Conviction
Why HR & Employment Law Need Deaf Professionals
Employment law exists to protect workers from unfair treatment. Disability law — the Equality Act 2010, the ADA, the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities — is among the most technically demanding and consequential areas of the entire field. Yet the professionals who understand its lived reality most deeply are almost entirely absent from the institutions that practise and teach it.
"Deaf HR professionals don't just understand disability law intellectually. They inhabit its subject matter professionally. That is an irreplaceable form of expertise."
Ergaris Academy was founded on the conviction that this is not a pipeline problem to be slowly solved by outreach — it is an institutional failure that requires a structural response. We are that response: a programme built to produce Deaf HR and employment law professionals who are fully qualified, internationally credentialed, and actively placed with employers who have specifically sought them out.
I
Design-First, Not Retrofit
Every module, simulation, and assessment was architected with signed language access from the first line of specification. There is no "standard" version later adapted — the BSL/ASL/ArSL/CSL experience is the standard version.
II
Interpreter Inside the Environment
In VR, the signed interpreter exists within the virtual space — not a corner overlay. They occupy a position in the courtroom, the tribunal chamber, the mediation suite. The Deaf student is inside the experience.
III
Oral Exams in Sign
Miyah's AI oral examination system accepts responses in BSL, ASL, ArSL and CSL. Sign is not an accommodation request — it is a registered examination mode with equal academic standing to spoken response.
IV
Deaf-Led Advisory Input
The Academy is actively recruiting Deaf scholars, Deaf HR practitioners, and BSL/ASL/ArSL/CSL linguistics specialists to the Advisory Council. The community whose expertise we are mobilising must shape the institution that does so.
V
Employer Pipeline — Signed Profiles
Through our employability programme, Deaf graduates are presented to employer partners with their sign language proficiency as primary professional assets — not as a characteristic requiring reasonable adjustment.
Full Platform Integration
Every Part of the Platform. Every Sign Language.
BSL, ASL, ArSL, and CSL integration is built into each component of the Ergaris Academy platform at the architecture level, not the interface level.
Lecture Video Overlay
Every recorded lecture has a signed interpreter window embedded within the video player — not a separate track. Position, size, and contrast are configurable per student preference.

VR — In-World Interpreter
Inside the virtual courtroom or tribunal, the interpreter is an embodied avatar occupying a designated position within the 3D environment — not a window outside it.

Sign competency as primary asset · employer-searchableBSLASLArSLCSL
Certificates & Credentials
Ergaris Academy certificates explicitly state the graduate's BSL, ASL, ArSL, or CSL completion status alongside their legal qualifications — a formally credentialed record of signed-language legal education, verifiable by employers and professional bodies.
The Deaf community is disproportionately affected by the very employment law issues Ergaris Academy teaches — workplace discrimination, reasonable adjustments, disability-related dismissal, and tribunal procedure. The legal professionals best positioned to understand and argue these cases are almost entirely absent from the field.
Every Deaf HR professional Ergaris Academy places is not just a career outcome. It is a change in who holds expertise, authority, and advocacy capacity in the institutions that govern working life.
The Ergaris Academy Deaf Community Commitment
Full BSL, ASL, ArSL, and CSL integration across 100% of platform components — not a subset
Oral examinations accepted in sign language with equal academic standing to spoken response
Active placement of Deaf graduates through our employer network
Deaf scholars and practitioners represented on the Advisory Council
Annual publication of Deaf graduate placement outcomes — publicly accountable
Ongoing ArSL development in collaboration with MENA Deaf community organisations · CSL programme developed with Chinese Deaf academic partners

Are You a Deaf Professional in HR or Employment Law?
The Academy was built for you. Whether beginning your legal education, advancing an HR career, or seeking internationally recognised qualifications with full BSL/ASL/ArSL/CSL support — this is your institution.
Education is only half of what we do. From the moment you enrol, Ergaris Academy works to place our graduates into meaningful roles in HR and employment law — across the globe, through our consortium partners and the wider network of employers who want the talent we produce.
Our promise is simple: we do not stop at teaching you. We stand behind you until you are in the right role.

EveryGraduate Enters the Pipeline
Global Placement
We support our graduates in finding roles around the world — not only in the country where they studied. Employment law is a global profession, and so is our network.
Consortium Partners
Through our consortium of partner organisations — law firms, HR functions, corporations, and public bodies — we connect graduates directly with employers actively seeking their skills.
Beyond the Consortium
Our reach does not end with our partners. We build relationships with employers everywhere who value rigorous, practice-led, genuinely inclusive legal talent.
From Enrolment to Employment
Four Stages. One Continuous Relationship.
Employability is not a service bolted on at the end of the programme. It begins the day you enrol and continues long after you are placed.
01
Enrol & Profile
On joining, every student builds a verified professional profile — jurisdiction expertise, languages including BSL, ASL, ArSL and CSL, and specialist research interests.
02
Learn & Certify
Complete the programme — comparative law, neuroscience modules, VR tribunals — with full sign language interpreter access throughout, and emerge formally credentialed.
03
Match & Connect
Our partner network actively searches graduate profiles. Employers approach graduates directly — not the other way round. We broker the introduction.
04
Place & Support
Post-placement we remain active — supporting both graduate and employer through onboarding, compliance questions, and continuing professional development.
How We Support You
Not Only Educating — Supporting
A dedicated Employability Team is the human bridge between our graduates and the employers searching for them. We do not post job boards. We build relationships — on both sides — so that when you graduate, someone is already looking for you.
01
Employer Relationship Management
We maintain active, named relationships with HR directors, managing partners, and talent acquisition leads across our consortium and beyond. We brief employers on each cohort before graduation — not after.
02
Student Career Development
From enrolment, every student receives ongoing employability support — jurisdiction-specific interview coaching, CV and profile development, and briefings on employer expectations in their target market.
03
Deaf Community Placement
A dedicated strand connects our BSL, ASL, ArSL, and CSL-qualified graduates with the specific employers who have expressed a genuine commitment to building inclusive legal and HR teams.
Our job is not finished when a student passes their final oral examination. It is finished when they are in a role that uses everything they have learned.
Most legal technology scans law books and calls it intelligence. Ergaris Academy is doing something different: using artificial intelligence and virtual reality to amplify human skill — training employment lawyers and HR professionals whose judgement, memory, and courtroom instinct are measurably sharpened by the technology, not replaced by it.
Employment disputes, compliance failures, and poorly trained teams cost global business billions every year. The organisations that train with us are buying the least expensive insurance that exists: capability.
Selective founding round — we are choosing partners, not simply capital
Technology that amplifies the practitioner — not a substitute for one.
Why This, Why Now
The full commercial detail sits in the information memorandum. What follows is the shape of the opportunity — enough to know whether the conversation is worth having.
Amplified Skill, Not Automated Answers
Our AI examines, mentors, and adapts to each learner; our VR places them inside the tribunal before they ever stand in one. The product is a sharper professional — a defensible position no answer-engine can occupy.
The Cost of Untrained Teams
Tribunal claims, settlements, turnover, and compliance failure drain billions from businesses annually. Organisations that train their teams with us convert that recurring loss into retained capability.
One Product, Seventy-One Jurisdictions
Legal education is usually trapped inside one country's borders. Comparative employment law across 71 jurisdictions gives a single platform a genuinely global addressable market.
A Platform Built on Evidence
Six research streams under named investigators, HCPC-registered scientific oversight, and a pedagogy grounded in the neuroscience of memory. Difficult to claim; harder still to copy.
A Market No One Else Serves
Full BSL, ASL, ArSL, and CSL integration at architecture level makes us the first serious route into legal and HR careers for Deaf professionals worldwide — a loyal market competitors have never addressed.
Founded by the People Who Do the Work
Practising employment lawyers and HR leaders, a Deputy CEO with four decades of technology commercialisation, and scientific governance under a Chief Research Officer. Operators, not observers.
Where We Are
Institute Established
Company incorporated in England & Wales. Executive team and research leadership appointed and named.
Research Programme Launched
Six research streams defined under named principal investigators, with HCPC-registered scientific oversight.
Partner Recruitment
Actively recruiting university licensing partners, employer partners, and academic co-investigators ahead of platform delivery.
VR Platform Delivery — February 2027
Full VR employment tribunal environment with integrated sign language interpretation delivered to pre-sale participants and licensing partners.
International Symposium — Late 2027
Planned inaugural research conference on neuroscience, law and inclusive education, with open proceedings.
Investor Enquiries
Request the Information Memorandum
Detailed financials, projections, and the full commercial plan are shared under NDA with a small number of qualified investors. We are deliberate about who joins at the founding stage — if you believe you should be among them, we would be glad to hear why.
